We are located in a haven of beauty and tranquility only 400m from the lifts and slopes of Sixt Fer a Cheval. Sixt is probably the best beginner area in the Grand Massif with roadside access to amenable green and blue slopes. Great for families and any beginner groups! There are also great (and quiet!) red and black runs for warm ups and half days.

For exploring the rest of the Grand Massif ski area you have a choice of starting at either Samoens (under 10 minutes drive) or Morillon (12 minutes). There is a free ski bus linking our village with the telecabines of these resorts. The Grand Massif Express will whisk you up to Samoens 1600 in just 8 minutes. You can also ski back to Sixt from Flaine on the long and exhilarating piste des cascades.

A resort and holiday overview....

The Grand Massif combines the 5 resorts of Flaine, Samoens, Morillon, Les Carroz and Sixt Fer a Cheval. It has 265 kms of linked pistes and offers a great range of skiing, with scenic tree lined runs, open ridges and bowls and fantastic panoramic views.

The resort has a snowsure reputation (average 4.85m snowfall per season for the last 5 seasons) and a height range of 720m to 2500m. To visit the Grand Massif website click here.

This is still a relatively undiscovered area for UK skiers. Outside of the busy February holidays it offers a great chance to get away from the crowds and is better for most skiers than many of the higher profile resorts. It is one of the biggest intermediate areas in France with lots of blue and red runs, and is the 4th biggest linked ski area in France overall. There are masses of superb off-piste areas to explore and excellent beginner areas in Sixt and Samoens.
