Welcome to Alpine Elephant Accommodation, providers of high quality chalet accommodation for alpine activity holidays in the Grand Massif / Haute Giffre region of the French Alps. We are a small, independent business offering a first rate personal service for walking, skiing, climbing and wildlife spotting holidays, with specialist knowledge of this spectacular area.

We are based at Chalet Henriette, a beautiful, comfy, 200 year old converted Savoyard farmhouse offering 5 ensuite bedrooms (sleeping 10-12) for catered, self-catered or B&B accommodation. Chalet Henriette is set in a quiet village amidst spectacular limestone cliffs with beautiful views of forest and waterfalls. We are in the heart of the montains but are only a short transfer from Geneva of 1 hour 15 minutes.

Enjoy one of the most welcoming and homely French Alps chalets in a fantastic 'getting away from it all' location, with superb skiing and walking on the doorstep PLUS excellent access to historic Sixt Fer a Cheval and Samoens for their architecture, cultural activities, shops and restaurants.

Snow summary (Saturday 6th Feb 2010):
Great snow conditions in the ski area in the last fortnight, with a superb powder day last saturday. Light snow today and then due to be cold and clear for the next few days.

Bearded vulture update...
We saw the 2 adult birds on the nest (from our front balcony!) on friday afternoon (the 22nd Jan). It seems all is going ahead with another attempt to breed this year. So all being well they should lay an egg pretty soon and will start 'sitting'.
